SENATE BILL SB615 LEXI’S LAW WAS INTRODUCED IN THE 2021 LEGISLATION SESSION BY SENATOR ROSALYN BAKER
HOUSE BILL HB857 WAS ALSO INTRODUCED AS A COMPANION BILL BY REPRESENTATIVE TINA WILDBERGER

Measure Title: RELATING TO RENTALS OF MOPEDS AND MOTOR SCOOTERS.
Report Title: Mopeds; Motor Scooters; Rentals; Lexi's Law; Helmet Requirements; Violation
Description: Requires all moped and motor scooter rental companies to ensure that mopeds and motor scooters are equipped with flags and that riders wear safety helmets, subject to certain circumstances.
Amends the definition of motor scooter. Prohibits the rental of any moped or motor scooter with aftermarket modifications. (CD1)

THERE ARE MANY LAWS THAT ARE PASSED DUE TO TRAGEDY, OURS BEING ONE!
There have been a few people that think that we should stop talking about Lex our only child and the horrific accident.
However instead we have made the decision to be an advocate and share our story!
Hopefully by continuing to share it… lives will be saved, head injuries prevented, State funds decreased due to hospital costs, relieve some of the EMT emergency calls, spare others from PTSD after they witness such an accident and hinder others from experiencing what we live and feel each and every moment of everyday!
We hand out Lexislaw808 two sided cards that tells the brief story and gives the website link.
We tell Lexi’s story and let them know that the moral of the story is: LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST, GIVE BACK TO OTHERS (as Lex would gather friends and feed the homeless in San Diego) AND WEAR A HELMET!
